Such an interesting article to be read since this article
suits the current issue as fresh graduates nowadays found it is highly
difficult to get a job even though they have passed their examination with
flying colours. So this article might help them a lot due to the fact that it is
filled with useful tips. Despite on how good this article is, there are some
fallacies arise.
One of the examples of fallacy detected in this article is “Buktinya,
ada graduan yang sudah berjaya kerana mereka ‘lebih dari layak’ berdasarkan
semua kriteria di dalam rajah FKI.” It is obviously an example of appeal to
novelty as it assumes the newness of an idea as evidence of its truth. Besides,
there is also a fallacy of hasty generalisation found in the article when Airil
Haimi stated “Statistik menunjukkan sesetengah ‘kerjaya impian’ tinggal impian
semata-mata kerana terlalu ramai yang berminat dengan kerjaya itu. Sebagai
contoh, untuk jawatan Pegawai Tadbir Kerajaan, kira-kira 30,000 graduan
memohon.” The statement is clearly an example of hasty generalisation because
the conclusion about a population is drawn by Airil Haimi Mohd Adnan, Pro-Chief
Executive of Uforia Centre of Excellence at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM)
Perak are based on a sample that is not large enough.
In a nutshell, I strongly recommend to all fresh graduates
out there to read this article and take note because this article has loads
with beneficial information and really help us in term of preparation to achieve
our dream job in future.
