I think this article is very nice and
a suitable reading material for all peoples especially the universities’
students. The author is very clever because she writes the article based on the
famous issue today. Now, many graduated students are jobless. There also have
several fallacies in this article. First fallacy is appeal to ignorance. “Statistik
menunjukkan sesetengah ‘kerjaya impian’ tinggal impian semata-mata kerana
terlalu ramai yang berminat dengan kerjaya itu”. There is no further
explanation provided by the author about the statistic. She should provide the
evidence so that the readers can see it clearly. Hence, the points of formula
to get successful careers given in the article are very good and useful for the
readers.
The other fallacy is hasty generalization. “Graduan
mestilah memperoleh Nilai Purata Gred Keseluruhan-PNGK (CGPA) tidak kurang
daripada 3.00 dan 3.50 ke atas untuk memohon pekerjaan di firma antarabangsa”. Many
employers think that the higher the pointer, the cleverer the students. They
assume that excellent students are more
trustworthy and can do their job very well. Actually, they cannot judge people
based on their results.
Other than that, the author also
use the fallacy of appeal to novelty. “Buktinya, ada graduan yang sudah berjaya
kerana mereka ‘lebih dari layak’ berdasarkan semua kriteria di dalam rajah
Formula Kerjaya Impian (FKI) “.However, not all people that have those criteria
will get the job. Lastly, the author is excellent because in the end of this
article, she includes the information she obtains from person that she
interview.
